Pyaar Diwana Hota Hai

Rajesh Khanna was the first man Hindi cinema called a superstar, and for a few years at the turn of the seventies the songs picturised on him were the sound of the country. Pyaar Diwana Hota Hai gathers those songs — the ones that made him, and the ones he made — into a single evening.

Nishad first staged it in April 2013 and returned to it that July, on the first anniversary of his death. The songs are sung live to musical tracks while visuals from the films they came from play behind the singers, so the audience hears the voice and sees the face it belongs to at once.
