What we collect, and what you can do about it

Nishad Pune is an orchestra in Pune, not a data business. We collect the little we need to answer you and to run the membership, and we measure the site only if you agree to it.

Who is responsible

Nishad Pune is the Data Fiduciary for everything described here. Questions about your data — including any of the requests below — go to Chandrashekhar Mahamuni, Founder, Nishad Pune:

We aim to answer within 30 days. If you are not satisfied with the answer, you can complain to the Data Protection Board of India.

What we collect, and why

When you write to us

The contact form asks for your name, email address, a subject and your message. We use them for one thing: to read your enquiry and reply to it.

When you apply for membership

The membership form asks for your name, mobile number, postal address and the tier you have chosen. We need these to process the application, to send you what the membership entitles you to, and to keep the member register.

When you agree to be measured

If — and only if — you answer yes to the banner, two services start: Google Analytics, which counts visits and records which pages you saw and whether you tapped WhatsApp, called, emailed or sent a form; and Microsoft Clarity, which records the session — where the pointer moved, what was clicked, how far you scrolled — so we can see where the site is confusing. Both set cookies and both can see your approximate city, worked out from your IP address. Clarity hides what you type into form fields by default, so your message and your address are not in the recording.

If you answer no, or have not answered, neither service is loaded at all. Not held back, not run in a limited mode — the scripts are never requested. You can check that in View Source.

Always

We count page views with Vercel Analytics, which sets no cookie, stores no identifier and cannot tell one visitor from another. It produces a number of visits per page and nothing that resolves to a person, so there is nothing here to ask your permission for.

Who else handles it

We do not sell anything to anybody, and we do not share your data for anyone else’s advertising. It is handled on our behalf by the services that run the site:

  • Sanity — stores form submissions in our private content system
  • Web3Forms — forwards each submission to our inbox as an email
  • Vercel — hosts the site and counts page views
  • Google and Microsoft — the two measurement services above, only with your consent

These are operated outside India, so your data is processed abroad. The DPDP Act permits this except to countries the Central Government restricts; we will stop using any service that becomes restricted.

How long we keep it

Enquiries are kept while we are dealing with them and for a while afterwards as a record of the conversation. Membership details are kept for as long as you are a member and for our accounts after that. When there is no longer a reason to hold something, we delete it — and if you ask us to delete it sooner, we will, unless we are required to keep it.

What you can ask us to do

Write to nishad.pune@gmail.com for any of these. You do not need to give a reason.

  • See what we hold — a summary of your data and who we have shared it with
  • Correct it — fix anything wrong, complete anything missing
  • Delete it — erase what we hold, where we are not required to keep it
  • Nominate someone — name a person to exercise these rights for you if you die or become incapacitated

To take back your consent to being measured, use the button below or the same link in the footer of any page. It takes effect immediately, and asks you again next time.

Withdrawing consent stops further measurement. It does not delete recordings already made — email the address above to have those removed too.

Children

This site is meant for a general audience, and we do not knowingly collect anything from anyone under 18. The Act forbids tracking or behavioural monitoring of children, which is part of why measurement here is off until someone turns it on. If you are a parent or guardian and think your child has sent us something, email us and we will delete it.

If this notice changes

We will update the date at the top. If a change means the consent you gave no longer covers what we are doing, the banner will come back and ask you again rather than assuming your old answer still stands.
