Dil Deke Dekho

Shammi Kapoor is the reason a certain kind of Hindi film song moves the way it does — the yahoo, the tumble down the hillside, the shoulders that never quite stay still. Dil Deke Dekho is built entirely from the songs picturised on him.

Nishad first staged it in December 2012 and has brought it back on his birthday and on his remembrance day since. It runs three hours, sung live to musical tracks with the films playing behind.
